Procrastinating is what I do best.

Thu Sep 3, 2009, 8:51 PM
  • Mood: Crazy
  • Listening to: "Dancing With Myself" by Billy Idol
  • Reading: The Great Gatsby
  • Watching: True Blood.
  • Eating: Fuji apple.
  • Drinking: Capri Sun.
I decided maybe I should update this since it's been two months.

College is more or less what I expected it to be. However, my art classes are a royal pain in the ass. While everyone else who is taking 16 credit hours has three hours of class every day, I have six. Why is this? Simple. Back-to-back two-hour art classes. I got assigned 11 still life sketches over Labor Day break, not to mention the 7 sketches I have to complete for my themed sketchbook. Pile all this with Honor's Physics, Sociology, and Mass Media homework and no free time. Not good.

Here's a breakdown of my time:

Studying/doing homework (8 hours)
Class (6 hours)
Meals (2 hours)
Sorority/Honor's Society/Art Society meetings (2 hours)
Hygiene (1 hour)
Clinging onto the shreds of my sanity (2 minutes)
Sleep (0-5 hours)

I'm not trying to be whiny. I've got a lot on my plate and I'm determined to get a 4.0 GPA this semester, even if it means sacrificing my ability to take much-needed naps (which I have been longing to do since I've been here).

PS. On a happier note, I'm going back to Omaha for Labor Day weekend. Huzzah.

Belated thanks for the support. I've been kinda buried. How's college?
:iconkilimac:
College is fun. People in Kearney are a LOT different than Omaha folk. Mainly, I'm an outsider because I don't listen to country music... and I think they're weird for not knowing what getting Rick Roll'd is. I'm back in Omaha for the weekend so I can breathe a sigh of relief that I'm back with my Harry-Potter-reading, Disney-movie-watching, Scooters-drinking kin. :)

Funny you should mention the Disney thing. Friend of mine decided that I needed to get my childhood fixed, so we watched The Lion King, The Lion King 2--which exists, apparently--and Mulan last night. It was pretty awesome.
:iconkilimac:
You hadn't seen the Lion King 2?! I loved that movie. My roommate not only hasn't seen Mulan, but she hasn't seen ALADDIN. I mean, c'mon.

...I hadn't seen Aladdin either. We watched that on Sunday.

Actually I thought before I watched those that Disney movies must be really overrated. But they ended up being pretty amazing, so I guess I see why they get so much credit now. Lion King 2 seems to be a chick thing, though. I thought that one was good and all, just not as good as any of the others.
